FootGolf Footwear

Mizuno-boots.jpg
We do not allow any FOOTBALL BOOTS - BLADES or MOULDIES on our FootGolf Course. Our reception and grounds staff will check your footwear and you will be given the chance to change your shoes, if however you are unable to do this you will be asked to leave.
You are allowed to wear TRAINERS OR ASTROTURF BOOTS

Why we are so strict about footwear

We understand that you want to have good grip however the wearing of football boots, blades and mouldies tares up the ground and causes damage to the tee boxes and greens. The damage caused is even worse when the ground is damp and we live in Scotland so that is quite a lot of the time! We want our course to be in a good condition so that everyone coming to play FootGolf gets the benefit of a well kept course. If you are still not convinced there are thousands of competitive football competitions throughout the world where the mandatory footwear is astroturf boots. They provide grip but don't cause damage. If you want to play regular FootGolf we would highly recommend investing in a pair of Astros.

What is FootGolf

FootGolf is a combination of two well loved sports Golf and Football. It follows the same rules and etiquette as golf but is played with a football. So instead of needing clubs and a golf ball you just need a pair of trainers or astroturf boots and a football. You kick the ball around the course trying to get the ball in the hole in as few shots as possible (obviously they are much bigger holes than golf holes). Our course has par 3, par 4 and par 5 holes just like that of a golf course. We will provide you with a score card which has some basic rules on it, a map of the course and a space to record your scores.
